Idle definition: avoiding work; lazy; without purpose or effect, pointless. Spend time doing nothing. Similar sounding word: idol. an image or representation of a god used as an object of worship. Greek eidos: form, shape. Similar sounding word idyll: an extremely happy, peaceful, or picturesque scene, typically an unsustainable one. also from the greek. Idle was west germanic, meaning empty, worthless.
I know what empty is. I do have idle wishes.
The ego is known to call the will of God idle. This is God being given the attributes of the ego and the ego the attributes of God. But it’s obvious. It’s experiential.
